A New Challenge:
2026 GT3 Season Announcement
After a successful 2025 season, which saw Vittorio Viglietti finish as runner-up in the Italian Gran Turismo Championship GTCup class, he is now set for an equally exciting new chapter. Everything is in place for his debut in the top GT category, GT3, where he will race the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II entered by Tresor Attempto Racing.
The experience gained throughout last season will be a key asset as he prepares to take on this new challenge in the Italian Gran Turismo Endurance Championship. Competing in a more demanding and competitive environment, Vittorio will aim to build on the progress shown in 2025 and continue his development at national level.
The car will carry the number 88, and Vittorio will share driving duties with Alberto Di Folco and Alberto Clementi, with whom he has already completed initial testing at circuits featured on the 2026 calendar. The early work done together has provided a solid foundation ahead of the opening round.
The 2026 Italian GT Endurance Championship will consist of four race weekends. Each event begins with free practice on Friday, followed by qualifying on Saturday, with one session assigned to each driver. The combined times of the three sessions will determine the starting grid for the race. Sunday will then feature the main race, lasting three hours, with five mandatory driver changes dividing the event into six stints of approximately 30 minutes each.
This format represents a very different challenge compared to the Sprint series contested by Vittorio last year. In addition to the longer race distance, endurance racing also requires managing heavy traffic, with grids often featuring more than 40 cars on track. Pace management, tyre preservation and brake conservation will all play a crucial role, making this an important step in his growth as a driver.
2026 Italian GT Endurance Championship Calendar:
Misano: May 8–10
Monza: June 19–21
Imola: September 4–6
Mugello: October 30 – November 1
This season represents a major opportunity for Vittorio to demonstrate his potential in a different and more technical type of car, competing at the highest level of Italian GT racing. Special thanks go to Toofast Academy and to all the sponsors and partners supporting this new campaign.
See you on track for the opening round at Misano!
