The second round of the 2025 Italian GT Sprint Championship took place at Mugello under extremely demanding conditions, with intense summer heat adding an extra challenge for both drivers and cars throughout the weekend.

Competing once again in the GT Cup Pro-Am class with DL Racing aboard the Lamborghini Huracán ST Evo II, shared with Riccardo Ianniello, Vittorio Viglietti delivered a standout performance in qualifying. He set a surprising second fastest time overall with a 1:48.530 lap, placing himself just behind Daniel Mancinelli and confirming strong competitiveness on one of the most technical circuits of the season.

In Race 1, Viglietti took over the car for the second half of the race and was running solidly in third position when an unexpected technical issue struck. A wheel failure forced the car to retire, bringing an abrupt end to what had been shaping up as a strong result. The retirement represented a major disappointment after the excellent pace shown during the race.

Sunday’s Race 2 offered a chance for redemption. Starting from second on the grid, the crew executed a clean race, with Viglietti completing his stint before handing the car over to Ianniello. The team went on to secure an excellent second place overall, a crucial result for the championship standings and one that partially compensated for the setback suffered on Saturday.

While the retirement in Race 1 remains a source of regret, the Mugello weekend ultimately confirmed the team’s competitiveness and consistency at the front of the field. With valuable points added to the championship tally, Viglietti and DL Racing remain firmly in contention for the title, while extending thanks to all partners and supporters for their continued backing.

See you on track for the next race at Imola!
