Vittorio Viglietti is set to make his official debut in the Italian GT Sprint Championship for the 2025 season, marking an important milestone in his progression as a racing driver. After stepping away from karting several years ago due to external circumstances and later returning to competition through sim racing, he completed a year of on-track preparation that now leads to his first full campaign in GT racing.
The 2024 season provided essential experience, starting with participation in the R-Max by IRK Promotion and TBkart championship and followed by a stint in single-seaters with the Griiip G1 of Team Battaglia. Strong results at the Vallelunga race weekend, including Pole Position, a win in Race 1 and second place in Race 2, confirmed his potential ahead of this next step.
For the upcoming season, he will take part in the Italian GT Sprint Championship in the GTCup category and Pro-Am class, sharing the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Evo II entered by DL Racing with Pro driver Riccardo Ianniello. The pairing has already completed initial testing at Imola to begin preparations for the year, showing good potential and speed.
The crew will compete for the Pro-Am 1st Division title, a category that includes cars such as the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Evo II and Ferrari 296 Challenge. The field features several experienced drivers, providing a competitive environment for a first full season at national level.
The 2025 calendar includes four race weekends. Each event features free practice on Friday, two qualifying sessions on Saturday that set the grid for Race 1 and Race 2, and two races of 50 minutes plus one lap with a mandatory mid-race driver change. One qualifying session will be assigned to each driver, in accordance with the regulations.
2025 Italian GT Sprint Championship Calendar:
Vallelunga: May 23 – 25
Mugello: July 11 – 13
Imola: September 26 – 28
Monza: October 24 – 26
"Taking part in the Italian GT Sprint Championship represents an important opportunity in my career", commented Vittorio. "After a year of preparation, I am ready to take this step and work closely with Riccardo and the DL Racing team. The goal is to grow steadily and deliver strong results throughout the season."
See you on track for the opening round at Vallelunga!
